Universal Bakes Nicome is a 100% vegan bakery in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo, where you can find donuts, muffins and seasonal delicacies, along with coffee and other drinks.
We found this place in around June, when we went to Shimokitazawa for shopping second-hand stores and we got hungry. I had visited Shimokitazawa many times before, however, I had no idea this place existed!
It is only 5 minutes from the station, so we didn't have to walk a long distance to get there. Instead, we spent our time trying to pick which bread to eat -there were so many options! (However, we should mention that it is on the second floor of the building, which might be hard to spot when you are looking at the map.)
It didn't take us a long time to get our bread once we decided and we ate sitting on the bench outside.
Note that there is no seat inside the store, so you need to opt for a take-out depending on the weather.
As potato lovers, we got sweet potato bread and sour cream potato bread, which you can see on the left side!
Since then, Universal Bakes Nicome became a place we visit almost every time we go to Shimokitazawa. Definitely worth a visit if you crave some good vegan bread to eat on the go!
